PATIENCE: Musa and Khidr as case study.

Assalaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu brothers and sisters.
It's been a while! However, I will like to share with you something from what I have learnt.

Patience can be said to be the quality of being able to deal with a difficult situation without becoming angry or reacting negatively.

If that's the case, then let's learn how and why we should be patient from Prophet Musa(A.S.) and Khidr's story.   Prophet Musa (A. S.)  is a prophet and messenger to the children of Israel. Khidr?  Some regard him as a Prophet while some believe he's a very pious person whom Allah gifted with the ability to know some of what might happen in the future.

All that been said, then let's go to Suratul Kahf verse 60-82. Don't expect me to type all verses here. Go and check them by yourself. Am just going to narrate in summary form.

It was revealed to Musa that one of the servants of Allah, Khidr had knowledge which he (Musa)  had not been granted.  This servant of Allah was said to be seen at the junction of two seas. Because of this, Musa set out on a journey in search of Khidr with his servant boy, Yusha' Bin Nun. He said to the boy,

"I will not end this journey until I reach the junction of the two rivers or else, I will go on searching for years".

So,  they continued their journey until they reached a place which was actually where they were searching for (the junction of the two rivers)  but they didn't know.  They took their rest there and the fish which they hoped to eat took it's way into the river and got away while they were resting. The servant boy saw what happened but he forgot to tell Prophet Musa(A.S.).

When they've gathered enough strength, they resumed their journey and after sometimes, Musa asked his servant to bring the fish because they are tired and they have to take something. Then the servant narrated how the fish got into the water to Musa.  Then Prophet Musa was convinced that the place where the fish took it's way into the river was definitely the place they were looking for.  So, they retraced their step back to the river.... To be continued soon In Shaa Allah.

Brothers and sisters, can we see traces of patience on the side of Musa (A.S.) as this story is going on?
Musa was ready to endure all difficulties associated with traveling, just because of the fact that he wanted to learn what he didn't know from a person miles away from where he was.  He didn't relent, even though the journey was tiresome. When it seemed that he had missed his way, he still  didn't budge by trying to change his opinion about searching for knowledge. He didn't complain. He only continued his journey.

At this junction, it's very important to point out that everything in the lives of the Prophets are meant to teach us lessons  about how to live a wonderful life. If the prophets make mistakes, we are to learn from it and not to criticize it... May Allah guide us all aright and keep us steadfast in faith.

Be expecting the concluding part of this story!
Will Musa meet Khidr at the place?  Will he remain patient or what? ...

Just be patient sis and bro, patience is sweet!

   Assalaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu
