RIGHTS OF A MUSLIM OVER ANOTHER MUSLIM.

Assalaam alaykum warahmatullah
wabarakatuhu siblings in faith.

Hope your eeman is still chilling with you in this Holy month of Ramadan?  May Allah accept our deeds as acts of baadah.  Aameeen!
And yes, it's a Friday in a blessed month. Attain the optimum reward by doing series of ibaadah. RECITE YOUR ALKAHF,  it's important.

Naam.  We're Muslims. The Most interesting part of Islam is that almost nothing is left unaddressed. Allah and His Rosul addressed almost everything. This includes the RIGHTS OF A MUSLIM OVER ANOTHER MUSLIM.

This talk is better  started with the hadith of the prophet (S.A.W),

"The believer is the brother to another believer".

That being the case, there are certain rights which Muslims have over one another. These rights are not limited but include the following:

1. RIGHT TO LIFE:

The  Most important of all these rights is the right to life. The blood of a muslim is forbidden to be taken except for a justified purpose.  A muslim who takes the life of his brother intentionally and without just cause is promised a horrible punishment by Allah in the hereafter.  This can be derived from where Allah states clearly in Surah An-Nisa, Verse 93:
وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا

If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.

Subhanallah, May Allah protect us from His wrath.

The above verse and many others show the seriousness of killing a muslim. A muslim must not be killed in any circumstance except well-justified by appropriate authority.
In fact, killing unintentionally warrants the payment of a robust amount known as Diyyah to the family of the deceased.

As Islam forbids the killing of Muslims,  so also does the life of a non-muslim is well guaranteed except in the case of self defence. I mean, if someone is about to harm you and you don't have any means of incapacitating the person except to kill, then you are justified. If there are  some other possible means to prevent the person from harming one without killing, then one is not justified for killing a human being.
In islam, where a person is coerced to kill another, the ruling is that he must not kill the person he was asked to kill!!!  EVEN IF HIS LIFE IS AT STAKE.  As the Prophet has rightly said:
One is not a believer until he Loves for his brother, what he loves for himself.
One actually desires life for one's self, one should also desire that for the one one is threatened to kill.
It's better to submit to martrydom and being the killed than being a killer.
May Allah help us in achieving success.

In the beauty of Islam, the religion also prohibits unnecessary killing of animals except for just cause such as for halaal consumption. An animal must not be killed only for entertainment or for the pleasure of doing so.

In   conclusion, the life of a muslim, a non-muslim and animals alike are sacred and must not be taken anyhow under the Isaamic Law . Anyone who links terrorism to Islaam is indeed making a great error and he has said what he has no knowledge of.  Lifes are highly valued under the Islamic law and the punishment for taking life is weighty, both in this life and the next.
As for those who have fallen into the sin of murder, do not despair of Allah's Rahma.  I'm not the one to tell you that Allah will or will not forgive your sins but just try to repent sincerely and do not go back to your sins and then hope for Allah's forgiveness.  May Allah forgive us all.

In Shaa Allah, some of the other rights will be discussed in subsequent write-ups.  May Allah protect us from being a killer.

Wassalaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu.
